This morning I faced an unpleasant task that caused lots of frustration and emotion. I called a friend/colleague about the emotional frustration I was feeling.
She is the first person to acknowledge that my emotions are hard-wired into my personality. When she asked me about my Myers-Briggs personality type, I told her that I was ENTJ. I think she wanted to laugh because she doesn’t think that’s possible.
She suggested that I am ENFJ and sent some descriptions for me to review. This one from the website of the founders is classic Lucinda:
ENFJ
Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group, and provide inspiring leadership.
Isn’t it FUN that an ENFJ is a catalyst for individual and group growth!?!?
Yes, I will spend the rest of the weekend embracing who I am….
