Sometimes I am amazed at how our personal relationships affect our business success! When was the last time you talked with your significant other about your business?
Recently, I was fortunate to have a conversation with my best friend about my business and some ideas I have about niche markets. He was GREAT at listening without judgement, and he offered some terrific ideas for me to consider.
Today I talked with another businesswoman who had the opposite experience. Her husband has told her that she’s not contributing to her family and she has to get a “real” 9 to 5 job. She was distraught, panicked, upset, and angry.
Does her husband recognize that he has soured her ability to feel confident?
Does he know that when she’s feeling negatively she isn’t going to attract any new clients or any new business?
My best advice for this businesswoman: Focus on what you WANT and ignore the nay-sayers in your life who are dragging you down! Celebrate and feel great about what you’re doing. Those positive emotions will create opportunities for more success, more business, and more clients.
