There’s Never Enough Time

When you’re with someone you love, do you ever notice how time flies? It feels like you’ve just arrived, and now it’s time to go again.

While I visited with my parents this week, we talked about some options I’m considering for my summer. My dad is always practical and wants to make sure that I have enough income to take care of my bills. My mom senses that something is bothering me so she wants to me to think through whatever is going on.

They can’t make my decisions for me. Although I’m sure they have definite opinions, they have been very careful to remain neutral.

That’s one of the reasons I love them dearly. Most of the time I can tell them what’s going on in my life, and they listen. Even if they don’t agree with me, they still listen.

One of my childhood friends lost her dad last week. At his funeral, she told another friend, “I wish I had come home more often.”

There’s never enough time to spend with your parents.
